Joke for the Day

I'm soooo busy thus am leaving you with a Joke of the Day.
Busy closing the quarter (work related) and busy taking care of Beary. He got sick on Wednesday morning when he was leaving Aust - bad diarrhea & fever.
I don't know if it applies to YOU, but MEN are generally babies when they're sick! Don't want this, don't want that, cannot this, cannot that.. urggh! Driving me nutz! *grin*

Joke of THE day

Here comes Donald.. and Daniel..

News today: Donald Trump introduces his line of home furniture

This man never fails to amaze me. The way he parts his hair, the way he smiles but it doesn’t look like a smile, the way he says "You’re fired" kinda expression-less and now extending his empire to home furniture too. Watch out Harvey Norman, Donald’s here to steal your shares!

If you analyse most businessman tycoons, all of them have 1 thing in common - no, I’m not talking about the family heritage factor - but well, all of them have the attitude of innovating and improving themselves constantly where they crave for ideas and implementing it. They never stop at their comfort zone.

And that same attitude actually reminds me of Daniel.. Daniel’s my ex and now, a great friend of mine. Yeah I know, sometimes people still mistaken us as a couple especially when we go eat at our ‘fav’ hawker stalls & restaurants. But hey, it proves that not all break-ups would end ugly :)

I have not met anyone who works the way he does... His ideas, his drive to make it work, the risks that he takes. I’m pretty sure he’ll end up a self-made millionaire in few year’s time and when he does make it big and in the news, I’ll be like "hey, I dated that millionaire before!" *grin*

So all the best, Ooe Ooe!

Stop the Rock!

Was listening to my iPOD and came across this song which I haven't heard for ages.

It was 1 of my fav songs in the early 2000s! I used to go nutz in the club when I hear this!!
I couldn't get the 'english' speaking version though, but it doesn't matter coz the song's in english and the dance moves are awesome :)

The song's called Stop the Rock by Apollo 440, a scene from the movie "boys & girls"

Woo Hoo!

Yee hAAa! Beary will be here tomorrow nite!

It's been almost 3 months that we've been apart. 3 tough months.
Long distance relationship is tough but the good part about it is that we seem to cherish and treasure each and every hr when we're around each other for the short period of time.
It's just human nature to do so!

Don't you love Saturdays?

My wonderful Saturday -

Got up, lazed on my bed listening to my iPOD and realised that I haven’t been updating my iPOD for ages. So I decided to import some songs from my CDs to my iPOD and I ended up transfering about 40 songs in 2 hours! Sadly, my CD drive couldn’t read Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds CD!! Tried ejecting and inserting the CD about 4 times. Didn’t work so I gave up :(

Met up with Loli in the evening at Lot10 KL and we did some shopping.

We already had our ‘to buy’ items listed out during 1 of the weekdays! I managed to get a white pair of shoes to go with my gown. And Loli... Well, Loli bought 2 pair of shoes!!! 2 beautiful shoes! I loved it. Sadly I’ve got sensitive feet and long toes so could only wear selected shoes, and mostly ‘auntie’ shoes. Sad ey? :(

Anyway, we discovered that Sungai Wang Plaza has a roller skating ring!! Skating ring that resembled those in the 70s... Like the one Jessica Simpson shot her "private affair’ MTV in, but err.. a more dodgy-er version of it. Sadly I forgot to take some pics of it! I know I know, I promised to practise the japanese way of doing stuffs (i.e. taking photos), but hey, am still learning! Oh and we also discovered that there’s a Haunted House-Adventure thingy there as well, but we didn’t manage to check that out.

So all in all, it was a pretty decent shopping trip as we also learnt new stuffs in Sungai Plaza that we never knew before this, just by having dinner in this Shanghai Dimsum restaurant on the IT Floor. Our waiter was amazing. I kinda felt like some VIP with the attention that he gave us on explaining bout the food etc.

Too bad M’sia doesn’t practise tipping, as he would have gotten a big one from me :)

23RD MARCH - HAPPY 30TH BDAY ADRIAN!

Note: Photo courtesy of Adrian's beloved - Adrian when he was 1+ yrs old..

Friday night was Adrian’s 30th surprise birthday party - a fabulous birthday party threw by his wonderful, amazing, caring, thoughtful, hyper girlfriend - GRACE!

She’s such a fabulous party planner! Sending fun facts about her darling right before the party to all who’s attending. Also she made a ‘momento’ for us to take home i.e. A CD compilation of probably Adrian’s fav songs. So sweeeet right?!

Food was not too bad, cake was beautiful and of course great entertainment by our idol runner up, Elvis.. I mean err Alex :)

All in all, I had fun.. Even took back some leftover food. Not sure if it was a mistake by the waiter or not, but I had 4 boxes of fried rice! So erm.. Yeah, my weekend lunch was all fried rice-based *grin*

I promise to post more photos once Grace sends it to me, alrighty?

Happy friday!

Urggh. I'm so stressed out :(

Saucy, it is

Alrighty. I finally decided to go to the gym after 2 mths of absence. The gym consultant was shocked to see me, as I told him I wanted to freeze my gym membership few days back. But to do that, I need to get my manager to write a letter stating on me being out of town for the mth AND still pay a flat rate of RM30. So heck it, I might as well just go like 4 times for the balance of this mth... better than paying for nothing rite? *grin*

It has been a norm for the past year where I'll attend like once a mth or so, till my gym instructor gave up in saying "welcome back" (he did that for the first few mths when I dissapeared from the class) where he now says to me "so what brings you here today?" :(

Sigh. I really need to start getting my ass to the gym more frequent now that my office is just next to it! Anyone wanna ber-gym-ing with me? :)

Anywayz, got back in time for Heroes on Astro. Oh Man, I really feel like storming into Sungai Wang plaza to get the box dvd on all the epis and just have a Heroes Marathon weekend! Now, that's a thought . . . . I can just imagine it . . . ahHhhHh yes! hehe.

After Heroes, I flipped through the channels as usual (as I wanted to wait for American Idol replay at 12am) and volla, came across this movie called PRIME.

It's a romantic comedy about a 37 yr old divorcee (Uma Thurman, who so happened divorced Ethan Hawke in 2005) falling for a 23 yr old guy (Bryan Greenberg - from One Tree Hill fame 'Jake' who is SOOOO yummy in that movie) who is also her therapist's son unknowingly. Therapist played by Meryl Streep. Fantastic acting by all 3 if you ask me!
The chemistry between Uma & Bryan was definitely there.

The ending was unexpected and I felt touched by the movie till I actually dreamt bout Bryan Greenberg. Urmm.. All I can say is that it was a 13-PG rated dream too (>_<)
ahhaha!

Change of Blog Name

Since I blog about my boring life in general and not just about the wedding, I decided to call it my CRIB instead of my NEW CHAPTER.

Yes, my lovely crib where ASTRO plays a huge part innit.

Object of my affection

Was flipping through the astro channels yesterday and came across this movie - The Object of my affection, staring Jennifer Aniston & Paul Rudd.

I have not watched this before, but I recall back in Uni days, my bestie sent me a postcard with this as the main pic:

So I decided to watch it last night and well, I loved it. Not sure if it's due to the fact that I'm getting emotional-ish and sentimental-ish these days or it was a sweet movie in general? Hmm.

Anyway, it's a movie about a girl falling for her best friend who is gay. That's like going against 2 important rules in life!

#1 never fall for a gay - Chances of you changing his sexual preference in life is 1% do-able in most cases (Unless you're falling for Anne Heche either way)
#2 never fall for your guy best friend - I see it as a lose-lose situation. Eiether way, whether you end up marrying him or dumping him, the feelings and emotions that you shared with him when he was your 'bestfriend' would somewhat be different. Trust me. Even if you decided to 'remain as friends' after going through the 'couple' stage together, it'll be way different. Things just cannot go back to 'where it used to be' as what most people would hope for.

Alrighty, Dr Mandy signing off for the day . . .

Kimi Kimi Kimi!

WoO Hoo! After 3 months of F1 break, it's finally back!

Lots of changes to the drivers and teams this year and of course, it's weird to see Kimi Raikkonen in RED and Fernando Alonso in White/Red. I don't quite like the vodafone design on McLaren this yr though. Somehow the Vodafone design looked better in the previous Manchester United's jersey...

Anyway, KIMI RULES!

The iceman finally did it, after not winning at all the whole of last year due to the unreliability of his merc.

It's going to be an exciting year for F1! Who said F1 won't be the same without Schuey?

It's dark and gloomy

It's been raining every evening for the past week, looks like it'll be no exception today as well.
Check the clouds out!

I had a really filling dimsum lunch today. So the weather outside is not making it any easier for me to stay awake . . .

Anyway, I finally decided to freeze my gym membership yesterday, since I have not been 'productive' in that sense. The last time I went for a good workout was in Jan! And before that, 3 mths of absence or so.
Yes, Yes, I know I'm so charitable donating money to Celebrity Fitness so that they could put up big big posters of Amber Chia.

The guy at the gym was trying to sell me a 3 yrs membership where after the 3rd year, I'll only pay like RM99 a YEAR. He lectured me that if I had taken that plan in Oct 2004 when I signed up for it, I would have saved heaps today. I looked at him and told him that when I signed up for it back in 2004, the 'proposed' plan was a 10 yrs plan! So . . DOH.
The guy should do his homework before lecturing me... Anyway, it wasn't a productive meeting. He couldn't offer me anything better so yeah, decided to freeze it for at least this month.

So guess I'm no longer a shareholder of any new Amber Chia posters! *grin*

How I will miss . . . .

Not going for Sepang F1 this year :(
*sob*

Yes, I still can't get over it. I can't help it because Beary just told me yesterday night that his trip to Melbourne for the Melbourne F1 GP this weekend is confirmed!! Lucky bugger. Darn it!
Hope Mark webber has the same luck as last year? hehe.. Ok, that's mean of me. I'm sorry Beary if you're reading this! :P

What do I like about F1?
Well, seriously, it's not like I'm crazy over the car engines or anything related in that sense, but I just love watching the speed in which the drivers could take it to. And of course it doesn't hurt if most of the drivers are good looking *grin*

And the sound of the engine when they accelerate... something about it.. also the environment & people. Yes, besides the drivers, you'll get to see quite a number of good looking people. Both males and females.. (yummy)

And of course what majority women love - shopping!
Frankly, I won't even look at any T-shirts which cost RM150 and above in shopping malls. I'm just not a big spender when it comes to normal T-shirts. BUT there is just something about the environment in Sepang that makes you go "Oh geez, RM150.. darn cheap.. have to get it!".
And it doesn't help when you have an Australian boyfriend saying "it's only AUD50+. Get it"

As a result, I actually spent RM700 on 2 Mercedes T-shirts and a cap last year at Sepang. . .
(which I only wore it like 2-3 times todate)
AhHhHHgghh.. I'll definitely miss not going for it this time round!

Why O Why

The weekend that we've got tickets for the Phantom of the Opera in Singapore clashes with Sepang F1 Msian GP weekend, which also clashes with the Easter weekend!

VS

URGGH! :(
But it's OK. I told myself that I'll save up for F1 @ Monaco i.e. the Monte Carlo GP next year. . .Honeymoon #2 with Beary perhaps! *grin*
And maybe fly back to M'sia for Easter to spend time with my parents!
Yes, I'm trying to see the positive out of everything :P

Bad Moon, Bad Mood

I read The Star Lifestyle on Sunday, and came across this interesting article about Moon Eclipse.

Have you been having a lousy week? Have dissapointments, quarrels, setbacks and a bad mood been dogging you of late? According to the article, the Moon has great influence on our lives on earth. So people, blame ur bad mood etc on the moon since there was an eclipse on the 4th of March!
And wait, before you say 'oh, that's history', watch out - there will be another on 28th of August!

Reflecting back my past week, and even to how friends, family & colleagues have been acting then, it makes me wonder. I seriously wasn't in a tip top mood (in addition to having back to back meetings), was darn tired, wasn't in a mood to talk to anyone, wasn't in a mood to socialise. And some of my friends and colleagues were also darn sensitive where they'll just snap after making assumptions on a particular subject etc. Hence, I was leaning more on just shutting up when I disagreed, to just kill it all off.

I feel like doing this now . . . .

My Saturday

Gosh, I dislike having weekend hangovers on Monday! Mind you, at this stage of my life, I'm not referring to hangovers from alchohol-related. It's on not having enough of sleep from I-don't- even-know-what-I-did-during-the-weekend!

Let's see.. Saturday,
1. had 7 hrs of sleep, but woke up in between coz of my dogs (yes, the champions of barks)

2. watched TV for 2 hrs

3. washed my car

4. went to my uncle's hse for japanese food (to celebrate my aunt's Bday) where Loli came along too (she hesitated at first giving the classic 'pai seh/malu/shy' excuse to gate-crash my uncle's hse but heck, 22 yrs of friendship, she's definitely a part of MY family! - HEAR THAT LOLI?!). I just love family gatherings coz I get to see all my cute little nephews and nieces! They're so pure and innocent, which makes whatever they say funny.. a couple of years more and they'll end up like me - NOT funny :( hehe.

5. went to the Photo Studio to choose another evening gown since I didn't like 1 of it from my past week's choice - not that productive. Ended up deciding between 2 gowns with similar colors to what I already chose *SOB*
The bridal consultant was kinda annoyed with me, I think, so she said to call her on Tuesday to tell her my final decision. And darn, she's going to strangle me for whatever I'm going to tell her tmr . . . . . .

6. went back to my uncle's hse for more jap food but sadly only 1 type of sushi left *sob*

7. went to Bangsar Blook for late night shopping since our original plan (to watch DreamGirls) 'tak jadi' due to unavailability of the movie at the timeslot we wanted - ended up buying a skirt only.. better than nothing I guess?

I definitely need to learn the japanese way of doing stuffs i.e. to take pics whenever and where ever so at least you guys could literally know what I'm talking about!

Oops, gotta get back to work. Break's over :(

Thursday, March 8, 2007

*sob*

It's 8.15pm and I'm still in office... lifeless.. Need to prepare and read up loads for a 9am meeting tmr PLUS it's back to back till about 4pm, afterwhich I need to write a report about the different projects before I leave the office.

SIGH.

Grease is the World

Ah, Grease was on 8TV last night.
I'm a big fan when it comes to musical shows, especially those from the 70s. I don't know why but it just gives me a nice-happy feeling!

Although I must admit that the story line's kinda crappy and that the actors over-act some scenes, but you can never go wrong with the music!
And seeing Shanana again, geez, that's like a 2-in-1 movie! *grin*
(I recall back in those days (my parents had endless tapes of the Shanana Show), I'd be singing along whenever they end the show with "goodnight sweet heart, goodnight"..)

Hmm.. my mum probably heard heaps of Bee Gees (as my dad's a big fan), 70s 'hussle's, and even 60s music coz I seriously get some dejavu feeling whenever I hear the golden oldies... I'll feel at ease... peaceful... probably what I felt when I was in my mummy's womb? *grin*

Glory Glory Man United!

I forgot to mention how happy I was on Saturday nite for the late goal by O'shea!
Although I must say that Liverpool was in command most of the time, but heck, losers are losers.

HA HA!

Gown Fitting Picsy

I decided not to post up all the wedding & evening gown pics, as it'll take away some element of surprises during my wedding day for those whom are attending.....
Ok, I lied. I looked like I just woke up in most of the pics plus none of the evening gowns were too nice to be posted up, so heck, I'm just posting up my favourite wedding gown only I guess :)
(yes, it's gown, Not gownS)
I feel like a princess in that! *wink*
You'll just have to wait for the photoshoot in April to see the rest of it!

Gown Fitting Day

Boy, I'm buggered.
Was at the photo Studio for 3 hrs today in the noon, just finding and trying on gowns. My Bestie came along of course as my gown-consultant!
And oh, Edmundo & Carmen was there too coincidently. As usual he insulted me on horribble I looked in few of the gowns compared to the models in the magazine . . . . and that my cleavege looked like a baby-bum for 1 of the evening gown! Bugger.
Oh well, what to do, I'm no model material *grin*

Anyway, I didn't take much photos as my camera battery died after an hr of using it :(

I am happy overall for the wedding gowns which I've picked, but not quite on the evening gowns. Nothing really caught my eyes, which made me go "wow, shit I freaking love it!".
Sigh. So sad.

Anyway, will post some pics up tmr in the evening I guess. Back to back meetings from 9am tmr. SIGHhhhhh... wish me luck!

American Idol Exit #2

This week we say goodbye to the following 4 wannabe idols:

- Told you it might be a surprise exit for AJ! But hey, since Sanjaya is still in, he better buck up next week. Coz seriously, I think he's getting some 'hate' labels from some Americans already.

- For the girls, I predicted these 3 - Alaina, Antonella (who rolled her eyes when the judges critisized her) and Leslie. Actually Antonella was in my main OUT list this week as I seriously think she's no match compared to the other chicks. Also her attitude when the judges commented on her performance was just arrogant! She actually rolled her eyes. Geez. And commented on Simon's remarks to Jennifer Hudson.. and Simon's got a point, he didn't determine her exit, it was America.

Don't you just love Simon? :)

Women Want . . .

... an emotional hairstylist with a good heart! Well, that's at least what 8TV concluded after weeks of running this program! I must say, it's really a failure towards their program title.

It should read "what 3-4 women judges & 13 guys want", coz I definitely wouldn't want a partner/lover such as Hafiz! Unless I'm not quite a woman yet?? HmmMm... darn, no wonder my dad accidently said to me a couple of mths back when I was persuading him to do something, "Stop acting like a little BOY" . . . .

From 3-4 episodes that I've watched, you could really tell how emotional this guy is. And for me, I definitely cannot stand hardcore emotional guys! Imagine him crying now and then, defending his friends all the way even if his friends were an ass, never putting himself first 100% of the time, not fighting for what you believe.. geez. Sorry dude, not the type for me. He'll make a good hairstylist buddy whom I could tell personal stuffs to, but definitely not someone whom I could be romantically involved in.

Also, if the program title was "what WOMEN want", shouldn't they consinder the reviewers' voice too? I browsed the 8TV website to get some pics to post it here and I found this poll:

I rest my case.

American Idol - the guys stepped it up!

No matter how busy I was yesterday, I made time for American Idol & Heroes! *grin*
Rushed home bout 7.15pm to watch the 8pm slot on Astro StarWorld as I was aiming to sleep bout 11ish since I had to wake up at 6.15am this morning.

I'm an addict when it comes to following up with selected TV shows every week. Well, 1 good thing out of having a long distance relationship is that I could affort doing that without Beary feeling 'left-out'! These days I'll make sure that I talk to him while I'm driving home, so that I could enjoy my TV time when I'm home at night. Smart chick ey? :)

My current 'craze' right now -> American Idol, Heroes (Man, I love this show!), Desperate Hsewives, Ugly Betty, Amazing Race All Star, Grey's Anatomy & America's Next Top Model Season 6 on Channel V.

Anyway, back to American Idol. I really thought most of the guys stepped it up yesterday, with exception 1-2 of them. So.. it's going to be a close one I think on the 2 that are going home.

- Jared - He doesn't have a strong vocal, but well, I have to say that he has the looks and charms? Actually he was kinda cheesy yesterday with his dance moves and 'hand' actions but hell, he might get young chickies votes because of that?

- Nick - Hmm.. I'm on the fence for this one. He has a nice tone to his voice, but somehow he portrays himself to be on the 'soon-to-be-cut' list. He looks sad most of the time...

- Phil - I missed his performance yesterday, so can't blog much about what I think about him. But based on the short playback and also previous shows, he's in my top6 guys list.

- Sanjaya - Ah, Sanjaya timid Sanjaya. I think he's lucky as he was featured quite abit in the audition and also the top24 episodes and thus people know how talented he is or rather could be. He was in the top4 guys' list last week, which I wasn't surprise even though the judges commented on his weak 'copy' of Stevie. But I was really dissapointed in his performance yesterday. Came out really weak, timid and I'm not impressed at all especially at how he ended the song. I think he was a little off pitch. So unless he gets 'sympathy' votes, he's in my OUT list this week.

- Sundance - I was suprised at Sundance's performance! Coz the dude seriously sucked during Hollywood week. He went off pitch in the grp performance and based on last week's performance, I just couldn't understand why the judges put him through. But I guess I know now :)

- AJ - I love his tone & how he enjoys performing on stage, but I don't know about his type of genre in America. I got the feeling that he will not be in the Top 6 guys.

- Blake - I love this guy! He's my favourite guy this yr! He is unique and I could really relate him to today's music industry. He'll go far and definitely into the Top6 guys!

- Brandon - Wasn't that impressed with his performance even though how much he went on about his grams. So I'm on the fence as well with him.

- Chris R - He seriously reminds me of JT - a slighty fatter version of JT! hehe.. I didn't thought he was THAT amazing as what the judges claimed he was, but I think he'll sail through to Top6 guys too as I could also relate him to today's music industry. He's my 2nd fav guy :)

- Chris S - The dude should change his hairstyle. Then again maybe he's trying to get the same breakthrough that Guy Sebastian had . . . . hehe.. Well, Chris is in my top 6 guys list definitely :)

SoO.. my prediction for this week's exit.. Probably Sanjaya and Nick or Jared or Brandon Or AJ as a surprise? So what do you all think?
