Super Dad!

It was Father's Day yesterday, 17th June.

My dad's a super dad. I know, alot of people would probably say the same thing about their dads but truly, mine's A SUPER DUPER DAD! *grin*

He is probably the main reason why my hubby is going to have a very tough time trying to measure up to my definition of 'husband'....

My dad does almost everything around the house including cooking dinner these days. He even prepares coffee/tea for my mum at a specific time daily, and serves us sliced fruits to eat after dinner! *shy*

I recall the stuffs that I had to do daily when he & my mum went for holiday and seriously, I went to bed at 11pm every night as it's so darn freaking tiring and it'll only take a SUPER DAD to do all those stuffs!

My dad's really 'happening' as well. He watches MTV with me and he knows who's dating who in the celeb Hollywood world. YES. My dad the happening man!

Besides doing everything and being happening, my dad's really creative too. To demonstrate this, let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, we adopted a Beagle named Cooper from my cousin as her lab retriever could not get along with Cooper. Cooper joined us when he was around 1 yr old, and you know dogs that age - they're pretty difficult to train when it comes to specific stuffs and they tend to be stubborn for at least the first yr or so.

1 thing's for sure - he gets dirty pretty fast as he likes rolling in the sand once in a while and as a result, he'll end up all blackish. Thus my dad decided to put a little fence around the sand area.

My dad actually bought a shorter one at first, and of course Cooper was jumping in and out like a POLO DOG (identity crisis.. hmmm) . Thus he had to buy another taller one to solve the prob. Tackle the 'temptation' instead of the 'temptatee' (I know there's no such word but u know what I mean! hehe)

But the biggest problem of all is that Cooper loves sniffing around and 'marking' his territory. Bingo, he therefore peed at almost every corner of my hse in the garden area AND of our cars' tyres. He actually peed IN my hse as well when he sneaked in 1 of those days.

We tried the hitting method, tried the spraying mosquito spray method, it didn't work. He'll just pee on the tyres when we're not looking and esp after we wash our cars.

So what did my dad do this time?

Yes, he not only managed to utilise the un-used fence but he also solved the problem of having dog-pee stains on our car tyres! 2 in 1!

I rest my case. My dad's SUPER!

It's friday!

Woo HooO! I love fridays! The thoughts of waking up late the very next day is just amazing!
Yes, I'm a very easy person to please. Just give me some time to hybernate and I'm happy :)

Anyway, I have my weekend all planned out!

Am going for a karaoke session with my colleagues tonight, going to visit my granny tmr & probably do some shopping (haven't bought my paps any father's day prezzy... ), catch a movie (I'm trying to cut down on supporting pirated DVDs) and then Sunday it's Father's Day.. am planning to drive to Klang for seafood with my mumzy, paps & my couz for lunch and of course come back by evening, have a short nap and then wake up midnight to watch the US F1 GP!

WooO HooO!

Am really busy at work now, so can't blog much. But well, I need to give the following people a shout-out:
I feel honoured as Carmelle Carmen actually spent about 2 hrs reading ALL of my blog entries when she came across my blog announcement email back in Jan! I managed to make her butt glue to the chair for 2 hrs.. cool! (Disclaimer to her hubby: I'm not responsible if your wifey's butt do grow bigger in the long run)
And then my ex-boss, Ma'am Tan, who congratulated me on my blog after she found out about it yesterday from her staff. Well, I didn't know she was into blogs too? hehe.. By the way, she totally rocks when she sings Isabella...... *grin*
Of course my lovely couz, Dude, who reads my blog everyday to check out wassup with me since we could hardly chat at night now that she's in Vietnam. Well Dude, I miss you :(
And last but not least, to Sweet Serene lai lai who also mentioned that she reads my blog from time to time. So sweeeet of her :)

Hmm.. darn. Now I feel obligated to update my blog more frequently! hehe..

Anyway, will be back on Monday.. till then... have a good weekend y'all!

Pic of my dad's doggy golf putters' cover.. I had to post it up coz it's SOOOOooOo CUTE!

Pre Wedding Photo #2 - Banana Kids

My mum's chinese (Cantonese), my dad's Baba (malay heritage mix with chinese blood), thus I'm 3/4 chinese. Although I'm 3/4 chinese, my cantonese is crappy and I can hardly speak mandarin nor Hokkien.

Beary's mum's chinese, his dad's an Australian (kwai Loh), thus he is 1/2 chinese. He of course doesn't know how to speak chinese at all.

We are definitely planning to settle down in Australia for good thus our kids would be brought up in an Australian environment. Looking at how things are at the moment, our kids although 62.5% chinese, would definitely be a 'Banana' just like their dad.
*Banana - The skin's yellow but when you peel off the skin to eat the fruit, you'll notice that the fruit's color's not the same as the skin.

Demn. I will be carrying a VERY heavy responsibility in making sure our kids know about our chinese culture and heritage!
I guess I'll start by showing them their parent's pre-wedding portrait as below:

The Bananas...

The Bananas in color - Wong Fei Hong Style!
See, photos can be educational too!

Of wedding themes and such

It was my Uni mate Ee-Leeng's wedding dinner last Saturday.

I caught up with some of my Uni friends whom we last met around Jan/Feb this yr. All of them knew that I'm getting married this Dec, so they were asking 101 questions like will I be giving speech, am I hiring a band, which photographer am I taking and whether I'm going with any wedding themes etc.

So while discussing on wedding themes, I told them that I want to do something unique. Something different from the normal ones that we've seen here in M'sia. Being typical guys, they started to name all the adventurous movie roles.
And 1 the the guys told me that his friend did a Star Wars theme i.e. the groom was Luke Skywalker and the Bride was Princess Leia (not sure if they really watched all the episodes coz they are, afterall, related!). They actually kicked start the nite by having a sword fight between Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker (as Darth Vader kidnapped Princess Leia), and the bride actually did the Princess leia roti-canai's hair do!

Erm.... I guess I'll give this idea a PASS..... Imagine my groom + his men wearing a mask as such:

Come to think of it, not a bad idea for not-so-good-looking groom's men... oh wait, it won't work for mine coz they are not bad looking! *grin*

And imagine if me and my bridesmaids wear as such:

My mum and dad will so-totally kill me! And my bridesmaids would probably kill me for tormenting them as such too.......

And then Mr father-to-be, KM, suggested The Flinstones.
Oh Wow. I could see myself and Beary saying "I YABBA DABBA DO!' and my guests could all just wear towels and drapes and bring rocks etc. Kewl?

NOT. hehe.

Ok, next.

KM then said why not have Kangaroos and Koala Bears as my main decorations, plus rent some kangoroo suits too... Well, KM, YOU can do the honour and wear the suit! No worries, mate! And I'll get some Sheila to assist you too! HA! :P

KM AGAIN, suggested TITANIC. He mentioned that 1 of his friends actually proposed to his gf in KL Tower, and told her if she says No, he WILL jump. And she being a sport, told him if he jumps, she'll jump too! Ah, couples in love.....

Oh and on the proposal topic, Mr Bachelor YB, told us about another Uni mate's wedding proposal. That dude actually wanted to staged a kidnap scene and frighten his gf.
It goes something like that:

Scene 1:
Mr K having dinner with his GF.
He then tells her that he needs to go to the gents

Scene 2:
He runs out and hides in the car booth, with the help of 2 of his buddies.

Scene 3:
The GF waits and waits. No sign of Mr K (doh)
1 of the buddies will call the GF and tell her that he received a call from a stranger saying that Mr K is being kidnapped. And that the buddy is on the way to the restaurant.

Scene 4:
Buddy picks the girl up and while driving to somewhere, stop the car and ask her to check the car booth (don't ask me what was he going to say to make her get out of the car AND check the car booth out of no where). And when she opens it, Mr K jumps out with a bunch of flowers in his hands and of course the ring.

Scene 5:
The GF says YES and they live happily ever after...................

*LOL*
I'm grinning like a mad woman just writing this down! Everyone laughed like nutz when YB told us that story. Oh man. And we asked if Mr K really did that, YB said he didn't and his guess was that it was most likely from all the laughters he got after telling his buddies about the idea.....

Some guys are just trying too hard ey?

So... KM & YB especially, thanks for not making my planning any easier! :P

Mental Block

I was messaging Yoda last week and I told him that I had heaps of stuffs to blog about apart from those that I wrote, but didn't quite have the time to do it.
And now that I finally have some time, I suddenly can't recall what I wanted to blog about! :(

Sigh.

Anyway, I met up with Big Baby aka Evil Duo & Auntie Leslie yesterday for dinner. Note - Aunt Leslie is a HE - I can't even remember why I gave him that nick name 6 yrs back... was it his 'auntie-ish way of talking? Hmmm...
We realised that the last time we had dinner together was probably about 9-12 mths ago! Time flies.

Big Baby was my buddy back during Manchester Uni days as we were pretty much in a similar position i.e. both our boyfriends then graduated a yr before us. So we were 'alone' during our final year at Manchester.

Ah those were the days where we 'elbowed' some dudes who didn't give us much space to dance on the dancefloor, drank hot chocolate with marsmallows during winter outdoor and watched mooovies together. The 'lonesome' 2 at a point of time.. ehehe!

Me and Big Baby - Jan 2006 - she can literally be blown away by a very strong wind . . . .

Anyway, all I talk about with friends these days = wedding wedding wedding.
Even during lunch with Thau Teck yesterday, we talked about wedding wedding wedding as well.
And the more I talk about it, the more it's starting to creep into my brains that I REALLY NEED TO START EXECUTING MY WEDDING PLANS ALREADY! I need to stop pigging out in front of the TV during weekends!

Urgh. Just thinking bout the workload makes me stress. And I haven't even really started anything except book the venue and photographer.
Thau Teck told me to form a team and elect a 'Wedding project executive' and then delegate delegate and delegate. Sounds like I'm starting a business.

But the tough part about it is I'm really not good at delegating coz I'm sort of a perfectionist when it comes to stuffs like that. I don't like to end up in a position worrying whether a person can deliver what I request for, or blaming myself for not doing it etc.

Darn it. This is really tougher than what I expected it to be esp without my future hubby by my side to help! :(

You've got beauty and grace that's irresistible to most who cross your path. Your territory is so well marked, it's not surprising that you sometimes can be a bit of a loner instead of hanging with the pack.

Sophisticated and discriminating, you set your standards high when out hunting for love. Trendy new hot spots are probably your typical habitat — though any place you can find sleek, beautiful mates is good in your book. Your confidence and charm will certainly get your partner purring. Pre Wed Photos - 1 - Black and White

My mum told me not to get black and white photos in my pre-wedding album.
She said that it's not good because black and white denotes sadness and since weddings' a happy occasion, I should have more colors... esp RED.

Yeah, my mum is really traditional. She believes in 'feng shui' and those kinda thing.
I gave her a crystal bracelet for her birthday a few yrs back. Just last week, we passed by a crystal shop in a shopping mall and I asked her about that bracelet. She mentioned that Crystals 'do not agree' with her. She wore it a couple of times when I first bought it, but so happened that she got robbed on the day she wore it then (got robbed while loading her shopping goodies in the car with my dad in TESCO Puchong). Thus she never wore it ever since...

Uh-huh. I don't know how she could conclude that but well, that's my mum! Hmm.. that reminds me, maybe I should take the bracelet from her since she's no longer wearing it... hee heee.....

Anyway, back to my pre-wedding album. Well, I chose to ignore her advice as me and Beary have already chose which photos to go Black and White etc. And I can't be jumping around based on every comments that I receive right?
I've learnt my lessons coz sad to say but my mum did cause a couple of arguments between me and Bear. I really need to learn to put my foot down (esp if it's petty matters) coz afterall, it's Beary & my wedding and that we're paying for every cent of it.
And in this case, it's just PHOTOS afterall............ not like I'm choosing a black wedding gown, or black color flowers or...........

Take a look at these 2 photos below. Can you really blame us for choosing it in Black and White? I don't think 'color' will give us the same impact. In my opinion, black and white photo has a class of its own if the setting and tone is right for it.

What do you think?
