Uni little gathering

11 of us from the KDU twinning program Manchester group met up on Saturday night for dinner @ La Bodega Bangsar Telawi Street.

It's been quite some time since we last saw one another, some even from the day we graduated! One will realised that life's pretty amazing and unpredictable when you start catching up with long lost pals. Surprisingly, none of us really changed in terms of looks - well, maybe 1-2 guys looked abit 'worn' out; some signs of decreased hair quantity... It's not nice for me to say THE "B" word as I was told that particular topic is a really sensitive topic for guys, just like for girls it's definitely the weight issue...
Just prior to our little gathering, 1 of them heard from another UniMate that I was gonna get hitched this year as he read my blog. So most of them were questioning me last Saturday.

MK: Wah, it’s just hard to believe that you are settling down this yr!
Me: What’s so hard to believe? I’m not 24 you know!
MK: But still.. From what I recall, you were pretty wild in Uni... so we never thought u would settle down at this age . . . .
Me: ha-ha.
Ok, let me put this straight once and for all. I’m not wild, really. It’s just an eye-opener when you reach a certain age, that you just have the curiosity to explore life in a different way. Otherwise it’ll just be mundane and you will not learn how to progress in life. But 1 important thing one should know is your limit. There's always a limit.

It’s just like when a baby starts learning how to walk, they’ll be walking here and there and everywhere! And it’ll just strike you one day when you are older that you want to take the escalator, the lift, cab, bus, etc because it’s just too tiring to walk that much.
I learnt that you need to progress in life as you grow (not talking about growing sideways though ... hehe) - as to which destination you want to take, you just need to make sure that you enjoy the journey the way that you would like it to be - true to yourself

Oh no.. Another granny post!

The Car Wash

Mandy's back to the bloggin biz!

Well, as you can see from my previous 2-3 posts, I wasn't in a tip-top mood to blog. Bloggin is just like any other activities that you need to have the mood to do it. Otherwise it'll just be full of bad craps and since it's only human nature that we don't like bad craps, I'll prolly bore you to death or something if I were to continue bloggin.

Anyways, I'm so proud of myself.
I washed my car thoroughly with car shampoo, cleaned inside of my car, waxed-off some tar stains near the tyre area & vacummed in car floormats yesterday, a total of 1.5 hrs on my car!
I've never spent that amount of time on my car.. it's always just 'water-washing' it for the past 3 yrs of owning my now clean-and-shiny car!
What inspired me to do it?
Truthfully, I felt bad and ashamed of my 3 yrs old car that looked like it was 5 yrs old. And plus I was out with my couz and her kids on Saturday, and her kids were like sitting on my car floormat (playing) and all.
Imagine, these 2 cute little kiddos playing on my filty car floormat! Eee... shame on me!

Anyways, aren't they adorable?

Finally - a response

Sorry for not blogging the past few days... was feeling depressed.

Well, I finally received an email response from the visa agent and I just found out that the balance TOTAL payment of 60% is payable even before determining whether the visa application would be successfully submitted or not. If the application is unsuccessful, it'll depend on the agent whether to refund you SOME money, as they will charge based on how much work they did as well. Also, the agent has a right to withdraw the application if they feel it’s not ‘working’ and they are not obligated to pay us back anything! Meaning I have to take risk and TRUST the agent on this that he will work on our case without discriminating based on our ‘past’ dealings.

The other agencies that Beary has checked out however, would request you to pay around 80% maximum, until you receive news on the application status. If it’s unsuccessful, then you don’t have to pay the 20%.
So right now, I’m really taking a risk! *sigh*

I’m feeling so depressed now. Didn’t know this will end up like that.
It’s either I just burn the 40% payment I made, and seek a new agent, or go ahead and take the risk and cross my fingers, toes etc so that he won’t sabotage me :(

Congrats Zab & Joe Jer!

I was so depressed last friday about the visa application shitz that I forgot to blog about how happy I was for Zab & Joe Jer for winning the 1st Amazing Race Asia + also being the 1st all female team to win it in the whole Amazing Race prog WW!

Truthfully, I was rooting for Andrew And Syeon to win it. They were really competitive and I just like the 'fire' in them. But too bad for them getting lost and not being smart at the final race.. I mean come on, it's KUCHING MSIA, how could you trust the MAP?! *grin*
Any Msians would know that you can't trust our local maps and road signs.. hehe!

Anyhow, Zab & JoeJer was still my 2nd fav.. so I'm still happy :)

Perhaps I should join with Loli the next Amazing Race.. Hmm.. then again, I think we'll be fighting over who should do the roadblocks with adventurous/fun activities such as bungee, sky diving, 4WD etc as both of us LOVE stuffs like that... and we will probably get lost finding a place knowing Loli's sense of directions and me in giving her directions! hehehe... darn it. There goes our chance!

Sigh.. I feel like a "water-fish"

I feel like a "water-fish" - My cantonese speaking brudders and sistas would know what I'm talking bout!
I have no idea wassup with Mr R (the visa agent) at the moment. He did not reply my email nor call me up since Friday, even after we have deposited the money to his account last friday evening *sigh*

Why o Why!
Right now, I just feel like doing this to him --->
Words cannot express how I feel, but apparently, emoticons can!!

L O V E

I watched Hitch on HBO this afternoon.

It's 1 of those love shows that makes you go "Hmm.. I should have seized that opportunity when I had it" or "I should have given him/her another chance"...

In my opinion, I really think that there's no definition to what 'love' is. No one could ever plan on falling in love with a particular person and even dictate how it will be. Uh-huh, definitely not! BUT You can learn how to love a person, as you can never force yourself to love a person.

I had a crush on this guy back in college days. And everything seemed so perfect when I found out from friends that he felt the same. One fine day, he finally asked me out on a date. Most of our friends were talking about what a cute couple we'll make and that made me even more nervous prior to our date.So nervous that on our date, things went the other direction... we didn't have much to talk about! As much as I would love for things to turn out perfect, it didn't. Both of us were the shy and kinda quiet type that I think the moisquitos around us (we went for some outdoor thingy) made more noise! And it was a relieve when we met up with his bestfriend who has loads to talk about, to laugh about, to be silly around with etc. And well, after few months, I ended up falling in love with his bestfriend instead!

I guess the moral of the story is that Love comes when you least expect it - You just can't control love. But what you can control is your will to
learn to love everybit about the person you fell in love with
Hmm.. look at me, am giving lecture about Love like a granny.. and I'm not even married yet!

First the wedding planner, now the application agency

*sigh* What a hectic day it has been.

I started off the morning good.. I mean afterall it's friday, the weekday that majority look forward to right? And then came 'the' call from Beary. He was furious and pissed off as he just managed to check his personal email today (as his desktop was down yesterday) and received an alarming email from an agent that we have contacted to help us with the visa application.
The agent, R, sent me a separate mail yesterday in which I did not read till Beary asked me to check, and it was an email full of bad assumptions & threatening to sue us - stating that I am exploiting a friend's relationship (it's my friend's uncle) to 'fish' information from him since Beary did ask few generic questions prior to telling him that we are interested to acquire his svcs. FYI, those questions are similar to what Beary has been asking the other agencies as well.

All Beary did was basically tell him on the 31st Jan that we will not pursue the visa application at the moment, as we have decided to apply it later in the year instead. R then emailed me asking what's the situation. And the very next day, 1st Feb, he sent a note to Beary informing Beary to pay up the 1st installment, reason being that he has provided some advice to Beary about the visa application. On the very same day, he emailed me a long 'accusive' note threatening to sue us if we do not pay up by Monday 5pm, since neither of us responded to his 31st Jan note. For God's sake, it's only the 2nd freaking day! And he did not even call us to ask us what's happening prior to deciding to bring this case to court! This is even worse than comp's escalation process! No heads up whatsoever!

So beary called me and I had to calm him down. I did not know that something like that could go so wrong in such a short time. Beary was so upset and pissed off, that I know he would make the situation worse if he spoke to R about it. Thus I called R up. It was not a good call at first, and he actually hung up my phone without hearing my side of the story thoroughly. I called him back AGAIN. This time stating that I just want to clear things up so that we could work 'smoothly'.

The situation with R is that his ears are closed - it's either
1) pay up by Monday, 5th Feb 5pm & he will continue to 'help' us (but really, we have lost faith in this working relationship with him) OR
2) don't pay by then, get sued and probably get my application jeopardized even if we might have a chance to win the case since to us, there was not much private 'advice' given. Also, if R felt that the questions Beary asked was private, he should have stated in advance that we need to pay first, but NO! What he did was just suddenly put a ticking bomb into our bags.

So I did the unpredictable - I was actually polite to him and apologised in most of my sentence as though I am 100% guilty. Maybe part of it was due to the fact that it's my friend's uncle. And another part of it was due to the fact that the more I argue, the more I will loose out. I don't need these type of stress. But really, I was majorly upset in the fact that he accused me of exploiting my friend's r/s with the agency, and accused me of not having any integrity and principle!

HELLO, I AM BROUGHT UP WITH GOOD VALUES & INTEGRITY AND AM ALSO TRAINED AT WORK REGARDING INTEGRITY!

What a blow to me as I never thought my 1st dealing with this cty will be like that. First the wedding planner, now the application agency. What have I done? Is this an omen?
